Dwane Wade has not been in the NBA long enough to even be comparible to MJ. Lets see after Wade has 6 ring, more than a few all star apearences, maybe a all defensive team honor, a scorin title would be nice, more than one finals MVP, how about a few All Star MVP's, then maybe we can begin to compare Wade to undoubtedly one of the best players to every play the game. Wade is a very good player, one of the best in 2006, but if he got injured today and could never play the game again, he would not be close to a hall of famer. I say in about 6 yers lets check in with what Wade has done and see if we might be able to compare the two.

Are you kidding me? Dwayne Wade and MJ? Dwayne Wade couldn't even carry Kobe's jock strap. DW is the most overrated player in the NBA right now. The only reason people are talking about him is because the refs bailed him out in last year's Finals. The NBA must have mandated the refs to hype Dwayne Wade into the next legend.

Yes, Dwayne Wade is great, but it's tough to compare him to MJ. I think that Kobe is much more comparable to MJ as of right now. MJ is the best b-ball player ever to play the game of basketball. Plus D-Wade has Shaq, Jordan had Pippen... Huge difference.

man come on now, MJ is top, wade is nice but u cant just skip over others like kobe if anybodys close to mj its king james a couple of seasons from now when he gets his shot nice and wet thats the dude to watch. time will tell i dont know if wade at this rate would last as long as mj did, i think its gonna be fun to watch and see who explodes to the top with so many good players to watch, kobe, james, arenas, even dirk, but growing up with mj, he's always gonna be incomparable.

wade is a good player and will be one of the greats, but its not yet time compare him with MJ, one, wade has 1 championship ring, but MJ have 6, and wade is still young and i think just his just his 3rd/4th yr... BUT! i must admit, that last finals he played an "MJ like" performance... right now, wade is sideline/holdback due to injuries. hopefully there will be no major injury in the future. so, who is better? MJ or wade? well i think its no brainer, MJ is better that wade

The only comparison you could make is that they attack the basket a lot. Thats about it...can't really think of anything else. If I could some up Wade's game though, I'd call him an MJ/Iverson Hybrid, because he plays like them both at times.

First of all, Wade is not a great player simply because the refs "bailed" him out of the finals last year...that's just idiotic. Besides, Jordan obviously pushed off (with his left hand) on Bryon Russell of Utah just before he hit "the shot"... no call there. And of course, that's just one example.

Anyone who thinks Wade gets more calls than anyone obviously never saw Jordan during his career.

There's a reason Wade is famous for getting knocked on his a.s.s. all the time...because he does get knocked around... Jordan never made any commercials showing HIM getting knocked on his a.s.s. like that, because it never happened...any player who did that would have gotten banned for life.

It's easy to say that Jordan was better than any player today...it's easy to say it since we have data on all 15 seasons Jordan played... Wade is only in his fourth season.

If you compare their first 3 seaons, here is what you get (and since we're talking averages, yes I'm counting Michael's 2nd year as a season, even though he was injured for most of it...

Jordan was a better scorer than Wade, averaging nearly 31.7 points per game in his first 3 years... Wade has averaged 22.9 ppg so far.

Jordan's 3,041 points scored in his 3rd year represent the 3rd highest point total of all time (even to this date)... Wilt, of course, holds the other four top spots.

Jordan averaged 23.3 shots/game in his first 3 years, Wade has averaged 16.6 shots per game... Obviously Michael shoots more, but who didn't know that?

Jordan shot .493 from the field in his first 3 years, Wade's FG percentage is .488... very close.

One 3 point shooting, Jordan's first 3 years saw him shoot 24/136, or .176... Wade's career 3 pt percentage is .241. Michael's 3 pt shooting went up after he came back from his first retirement, as the distance was shortened in 1994. The NBA 3 point line is now back at its original distance.

Wade has averaged 6.1 assists/game so far, Jordan 5.0... Wade had better teammates during his first 3 years than Jordan did.
Plus, rules regarding the awarding of assists have been relaxed more and more over the last 30 years...assists are awarded much more liberally now. But, all we have are the numbers, one would actually have to watch each game by both players to see how many of their assists are "legitimate"... but it's not possible to do that, so you have to just go by the numbers here.

Both players averaged 38 min/game during that time.

Wade has obviously won a title, and was MVP of the finals... and Wade was, by far, the best player out there in the finals last year, the refs had absolutely nothing to do with it.

If both of these guys came up in the same year, and accomplished exactly what they did in their first 3 seasons, Jordan with the Bulls and Wade with the Heat, I'm not so sure the Bulls would trade Jordan to get Wade... Whether the Heat would have traded Wade to get Jordan remains debatable, but I think the Heat would be more likely to want to make that trade than the Bulls would have been.

Yes, he's a great player but he's still a kid who still lacks the maturity for the game that great players like Jordan, Magic, Bird, etc. possessed. He's got amazing skills, exceptional athletic ability and fierce competitiveness. But his high turnover rate exposes his lack of maturity. Of course, he's still young, and when he starts winning championships minus Shaq, then we can begin the comparisons.
