You should wait an hour for each drink you had. If you had 6 beers, wait 6 hours before giving your milk to your baby. You're not a bad mother for drinking. Sometimes a mom (especially a new mom) needs to get out without the baby every now and again and do what she wants to. I went out to the bar with a couple of my friends when my child was 2 months old. I didnt get drunk but yeah I had some drinks. Me and my husband also went out when she was 4 months old and got a little drunk. But we spent the night at my moms (who was watching the baby at her house) just in case we couldnt get up or something if she cried at night. I woke up (I only had a few) but my husband was passed out the whole night. : ) It is perfectly fine to have some drinks every now and then as long as you know you can take good care of your baby afterwards.

I wouldn't breast feed for at least 24hours after having beer. Its likely that it wouldn't hurt the baby but Its like you said better safe than sorry. Go get some Carnation Good start with DHA&ARA it is about as close as brest milk as you can get.Next time you want to have a few drinks just pump ahead and store it in the freezer.

I would call your pediatrician, I wouldnt take advice from anyone on this website. I don't understand why you would you risk and "guesstimate" when it is safe to give your child breast milk that may have alcohol in it? If you really feel you need to drink alcohol that badly why not just start formula. Your baby will be fine if you give her formula but you can cause serious health problems if you are drinking and trying to breastfeed. If you are a good parent I would think this would be the best decision for your baby, well actually the best decision for your baby would be for you to stop drinking altogether, maybe then you could be an attentive parent.

I think you probably can. The milk you dumped is the one that probably had traces of alcohol it it, however, if you're not sure, just give her a bottle and pump and dump again.
I think it's good that you worry, some moms would have just jumped into breastfeeding without bothering to pump, dump or ask any questions

If alcohol can be avoided while breastfeeding,it would be so much better cause you dont want your baby to take in the alcohol content in your body thru breastfeeding. There is only a minimal amount you can take. I would rather advised you to give your baby a milk formula than having to drink from your breast with high content of alcohol.

I tend to agree with one of the statements on this site: If you are not feeling tipsy, you should be okay. Also, you did right by dump & pump. I would just avoid that much beer from now on... Isn't that a bit much? But that's just me...

I would feed . I have heard that alcohol goes straight to your breast milk, so if you expressed after your last drink then i would feed .
