I know he is the man in charge (somewhat), but he cannot control the actions of others. He can only do so much. I hate how we make it harder on our leaders by running them in the ground! I believe that Mr. Bush truly cares about us! War sucks! No doubt about it! But I cannot help but wonder what everyone would say if President Bush did absolutely nothing after 9/11! Instead of hammering him about the war they would be hammering him for not responding! so I guess its a catch 22 for the president! People are so wrapped up in politics that they cannot respect one another! As if respect of the opposing party is against their religion. I agree with Bush on some things. Some things I disagree with! But I don't hate him. And all this 9/11 conspiracy crap is just that! CRAP!!! I am not asking for people to agree with our leaders. But we don't have to be so hateful to them. I never hated Clinton! In fact I kinda felt sypathy towards him for the way he was treated! All humans make mistakes!

He's the most convenient scapegoat.
What about all the folks that elected him. I seem to recall a whole lot of flag waving going on when the Americans started the war....voters' hearts swelled with pride while they watched the assault on Baghdad on CNN.
Now the poor guy is taking all the heat for doing the people's bidding.
Heck, you elected him twice.

I’ve disagreed with the president in some areas; for example neither he nor the Democrats seem to really want to stop illegal immigration. But I’ve also seen him stand up for America when we were on the ropes. One thing I haven’t seen is any evidence that President Bush lied about Iraq or anything else (in fact, his main problem as a leader is that he is ineloquent, to say the least, and can’t seem to tell even those little lies necessary for a politician to be truly successful). Are the liberal British Labour Party (and their prime minister, Tony Blair), and the Italian government liars, too? They all made the same pre-war claims about Iraq that our government made. What is a lie is that the Democrats supported Bush after 9/11; the truth is, they were saying much of the same defeatist nonsense about our war in Afghanistan (still ongoing, by the way) in 2003 as they’ve been saying about Iraq. I always thank God for two things every night; one that Mr. Bush is in the white house, and two, that I went to work late one Autumn morning five and a half years ago.

It's actually quite simple:

The democrats in congress know they can't win the presidency on their merit alone, so they spend all their energy attacking Bush and trying to make him look bad. Clinton said that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction in 1998, so did Janet Reno and Madeline Allbright. Many of the democrats in congress said that Iraq had WMDs in 2002. Did all of these people lie? I don't think so, and neither did President Bush.

The intelligence report clearly states that Iraq had biological and chemical weapons. It did not say they might, but that they did.

The congressional democrats have to try and turn it around on Bush because if they can't do that, they have to take respnsibility for their own actions.

It's interesting to note that some people are calling for President Bush to send us to Darfur, Sudan to "stop the genocide". The same people got their panties in a bunch when we stopped the genocide here.

Some people just want power for their own political ends -- and if that means tearing down a president who is not in their party, they are willing to do that, even in wartime.

Others find it safer to verbally attack their president than to verbally attack the terrorists themselves.

Plus, if they can convince themselves that the terrorists hate us because of something we've done, they feel better becaue they assume that all we have to do to stop the attacks is to change our own actions. It gives them a sense of control in a scary time.

I don't agree with everything he says or does but I'm for him. If the war had gone swimmingly people would have thought him a hero. Saddam played games with the U.N. for years. If they had shown more backbone maybe he would have listened. I also think the burden of where hr disposed of his weapons was on him. To simply say we got rid of them but don't know where isn't very credible especially given Saddam's track record of deceit. This war was meant to send a message that America isn't going to just sit back and do nothing anymore. You mess with us and we may come knocking at your door or spider hole as the case may be. What people don't seem to realize is the war over there has created a temporary diversion. While we try and fix our security weaknesses over here our enemies have a target to keep them busy.(Getting the infidels off their sacred land).

I got the general idea of your question/comment.
But you've GREATLY discounted your statement when you gave the example if he had done NOTHING after 9/11. No one had any problems with what he did after 9/11...we all agreed the ones responsible should pay.
HOWEVER, IRAQ and 9/11 were and are in NO WAY related to eachother.
And while we're out playing in the sand in a war we'll NEVER EVER EVER win....Osama's still floatin' around out there plotting on us further.
So, unfortunately, I cannot even begin to continue answering your question/comment as I can tell with ease that you have no idea what you're speaking of.

Good Luck.

because he is the DECIDER!

It is so funny that he does not realize that the people he has surrounded himself with have lead him down the path as the worst president in history. Why will he not open his eyes to see what is going on and make those responsible for pulling his puppet strings take responsibility of their actions?

I guess Cheney and Rove are in complete control of him.

Amen, your thoughts are mine. People have a way of loving to make someone a scape goat. I don't agree with everything he has done or said but I can't think of anyone I would agree on all things with. I feel its been really harmful, all this disrespect for our President, the terrorists have to love it. My heart goes out to his family, having to listen to their son, father, husband being continually beat up with words.

To say that everything is GWB's fault would be a cognitive distortion. The only things that are his fault include things like fibbing to the media, public, and congress. Appointing a whole bunch of people who shouldn't have been promoted and were later banished for their incompetence would be another. Unauthorized wire taps, giving Osama a two month head start, authorizing torture/detainee camps around the world, being the primary person to gain by impugning a foreign diplomat (when his wife's CIA identity was leaked), professing to protect us from terrorist threats while leaving our boarders open for walk-ins from Mexico, alleging that he was protecting our ports while supporting the sale of our ports to the Saudis, and... and ... and... uh... by golly... I think he might just be to blame for blowing over 3000 lives and 380 billion bucks on a war with a country that had absolutely nothing at all to do with the WTC towers falling. President Bush is as good at intuiting what this country needs as VP Cheney is at only hitting what he intends to shoot.

I'm sorry, but if you think that Bush truly cares about you, then you haven't been paying close enough attention to what he and his staff are really like. Bush has more than earned the anger and disgust people feel towards him.

He has repeatedly lied to the American public, gotten us into a disastrous war that he can't even manage correctly because he always thinks he knows more than his generals. His administration has done more to curb Civil Rights and American freedoms than anyone in recent history. He acts as if he were above the law. And if you really pay attention to his actions and not just his words, you'd see that the only people he and his people have cared about is the ultra-rich corporations and individuals who have gotten mega tax cuts from him as he has simultaneously cut government spending for programs helping people like veterans, students, and the elderly.
