They say that it was cuts and gravy food packaged from Dec 2006 through Mar 2007 and found out that it had a chemical commonly used as rat poison (and banned in the US)!! Very sad!

it's gone on for too long... the news now say that the company knew 2 weeks before they said anything! that's horrible, some animals died and probably didn't need to :( I want to give my condolences as well to those affected... I thank God, that we didn't go to petsmart and buy my dogs normal food (authority) the last time they ran out...it's too far so we went to walmart and that our laziness may have saved our 2 dogs... first spinach, then peanut butter, now pet food... what's next? I'm honestly worried :oS

The same thing happens every year to human vegetables and meats so quit crying, do the research it was only canned food. It was not just one store it all came from one source who makes the food for numerous companies. You shouldn't be feeding your dog canned food anyway. Since you are already on the web try looking up info on the BARF diet and supplement with a good holistic dry food.

I don't know but I just got a letter from Purina saying that Mighty Dog has joined the list. :-(
