Eliminate forwarding emails with list of peoples email addresses, spammers love these free email lists.
That's a start..
Getting them to stop "good luck" we are just seeing the beginning of advertising as we know it....junk mail
You get junk mail in evering you recieve like newspapers, your mailbox, the magizine you read. Paid Advertising you could say.....

Hi chit,

Good luck with that. The news has been saying that 50 percent of all e-mails are spam.

* Don't respond to e-mails that you don't recognize. Don't click on those "Unsubscribe" hyperlinks.

* Don't open e-mails that you don't recognize. If you can view them off-line, try that. By accessing e-mails with their hidden graphics, you are confirming your address.

* Turn off HTML and automatically loading graphics features on your e-mail client.

* You should contact your Internet Service Provider and see if they offer spam filtering from their end. This might be a mixed blessing as some good e-mail might not get through to you.

* There are e-mail clients that have filters too, check some of those out.

I'm sure that other posters will have some good ones, but these are the ones that I can think of. Best of luck to you.

Short of stopping them from breathing, having a heartbeat and brain function, nothing.

Microsoft and other Antispam security firms estimate there are 80 million poorly protected computers with many having no protection. 30+million of these computer are hijacked and used in "Bot Nets". 10+million are used on any given day for spam and scam emails, phishing sites etc.

The Spam and Scam email are sent through these hijacked computers in several different countries prior to getting to their destination.

Because of corrupt Governments and difficult legal systems it is almost impossible to get to the originators.

There are many sites on the Internet with information on how to reduce your risk of getting Spam and Scam email. Yahoo has a great feature with the Mail Plus called AddressGuard. This allows you to make up and use disposable email addresses. When spam comes to one of the addresses you simply delete it (spam stops) and make a new disposable address. This is not completely perfect, but it's damn close. I use it and love it.
