my mouse has ear mites...?

i cleaned/scrubbed his tank,.. and gave him a bath/shower with some regular soap...it seemed to have lowered the itch..but the bites in his ears are still there but i dont see anything getting worse...do i still need to go and buy the medicine for him? and if so...does he have to be present for the vets to give me the (drops..i've been told was needed) ?

it's probably best, the vet would have to have a look at the mouse.
And I never met anyone who washed their mouse with soap and water. I give mine a dustbath.
