Any suggestions for an inexpensive place to stay for about a month on the island? 2 adults and one baby.

It's a big island, so you'd be better off saying where on it you'd like to be. It takes all day to drive from one end to the other. Victoria's a third of a million people, and there's another third of a million in Nanaimo and other places up-island. It's cheapest to stay outside the bigger cities, of course. Check the site below, look up "times colonist classifieds" on the Web, and check Craigslist

Hostels are your terrific guess... and one individual reported there wasn't lots to do in Victoria? i'm from Port Alberni, yet Victoria has TONNES of issues to do! anyhow, it truly relies upon on the place you will on Vancouver island...great island right here. So plan your cities and then get ahold of the chamber of commerce for one and all you propose on staying at. Then the two telephone or digital mail to them for hostels, B&B's, etc. "hi BC" will deliver you info on a number of of places, too. have relaxing!
