25 years for classic or collectable, 75 years or older for antique. Just checked into this cause of my 82 chevy shortwide and 85 chevy shortwide.

What is a classic is a subjective opinion. Most state DMV's will issue "classic plates for vehicles over 25-30 years in age.

I'm pretty sure it needs to be 25 years old to be a classic, 50 years old to be an antique. That would be a 1982 and a 1957 model, respectively.
