Well, surprisingly for a highly stylized movie like the 300, it's actually astounding how historically correct it is. If you look at some dialogs between the Persians and Spartans, like when the Persians ask the Spartans to put down their weapons and Leonidas says: "Persian, come and get them!" These words are actually Leonidas's and they have later been used by generals and politicians throughout history.
Anyways, about the Persians being black...not all were black and NO Xerxes was not black. But since at that time the Persian empire already stretched into Egypt and some north Africa, yes...some of the Persians were in fact black. The thing is that Persians were not comprised of only one ethnicity, because the empire was too huge and they conquered many different peoples. But, many of the conquered people considered the Persians as liberators (cos Persian emperors did not demand from the peoples that they all pray to the same god etc.)...so, the movie draws a pretty degrading portrayal of the Persians as savages etc. but it's for entertainment purposes and the movie also depicts the one event in history when Spartans really showed what they were made of and it was a true moment of strength and victory for them. So, since movie is about that moment, I see no reason why Persians shouldn't have been portrayed as they were. I mean the movie exaggerated all other things and scenes...it is a true battle between "good and evil" so the distinction has to be clear. I loved the movie and have already seen it twice and can't wait for the third time!!! Hope this helped.

Travel to the so called Middle East and see how many Black people you really see. Do not be mistaken by the images on television or the news.Travel to Isreal, Jerusalem or even Egypt. The majority of the people are Black. Funny thing, people automatically see Black people in a negative light. Why? Why the question? Did people complain when Jesus was depicted as white? Clearly the Bible said he was dark skinned.
The answer to the question is yes. Please refer to the historical depiction of Persian art and statues on the internet. They had African features with dark curly hair.
The Aryan descendants were from the Caucus mountains, hince the name Caucasians. The origin of their race dates back to a little over 6000 years, the origin of the Persian Empire can be traced back to the African Continent. RESEARCH THAT!!!!!!

I would think that the possibility that black Persians had existed is more likely then the Persian emperor's blade-handed executioner, Rhino's with saddles, super mutated hunchbacks, or the living dead super soldiers in masks.
I never once thought that "The Spartan Beach blow out" was ever historically accurate.
Who cares? Lots of and lots of skin for both genders and sexual orientation.
As a hetero female I have no problem seeing half naked men run about in their spedos and red beach towels.
It's the blood and the gore and the promise of a new drinking game when the DVD hits the shelves.
Every time something gets amputated- take a shot!!!!
You should be seeing Spartans running around your living room in short order as your brain starts to die from alcohol poisoning....

There were black Persians most likely. The old Persian empire depicted in the movie stretched down into Egypt all the way through Iraq and Iran and into modern Pakistan, and in Northern Egypt (geographically Southern, but the Nile flows opposite) there are Nubians (black Egyptians) so yes there probably were.

Well they werent all black, most of them were more tanned or Indian in color. This is historically accurate because Persia was a very very vast empire in those years so the ethnic backround of all the soldiers that come in the army could vary this much and with that many troops why wouldnt they.

Its greater on how the action picture seems.. Its no longer generic cinematography that became used, of course, and it makes dermis tones regulate somewhat. I dont think of the Persians are truly all too black.. greater dark tan.

Persians were the original "Aryans", which a lot of racist white people claim as 'their' race. To tell you the truth, no one will really know what they looked like.

Persians were dark-skinned, but they wouldn't be mistaken for those of African descent.
