leading is a guide..it is easily avoided if you choose.
cause is far more difficult, if not almost impossible to avoid.
an example...I might jump off a bridge, a lead for you to follow. Only if I grab your arm and pull you wish me can I cause you to fall as well.
Not a threat...just an example btw. ^_^

cause = previous, not necessarily first.
