My 1/2 duplex was originally built to be one suite. It is now two and thus has NO soundproofing. I can hear the neighbors alarm clock! They can hear mine. I can hear their t.v. channel and their arguements.. often word for word. My concern is that I am having a baby in a few months. They say the porch door in my enterance echos in their place. I am in the basement and it is cold. I turn the heat on, and they sweat and open their windows in a Canadian winter. These neighbors are moving this week, thank god, because they complained ALOT. I don't know who will my new neighbors will be. But my newborn will cry and wake up at night several times and they will hear everything as they will be right above me. I don't want to be tense with my baby crying and being more uncomfortable in my home then I was with these neighbors.I am a single mom and would move when my lease is up with a newborn baby and a 7 year old.I love my location now.It is for sale, also getting new landlord. What would u do?

it really all depends on the dynamics of your situation . do u have money to move? is thee another place u can go? do u really like your place now? do what u gotta do fi they dont like the baby crying its THIER problme and dont feel guilty about it. sounds as though you have put up wtih other neighbors noises and they can put up with yours. it is ttloally up to u though on what u wanna do. if u have to stay there for finances or whatever thats something to take into consideration. congrats on the pregnancy!! im pregnant too and about to be a single mom..

Start looking for a place to move to, preferably someplace without neighbors so close by, a house, or even a mobile home would be better than that , I know I have lived like that & it's totally irritating, plus your new land lord may decide to live there themselves when your lease runs out, so be prepared.Better safe than sorry.
