I'm in Southern California and we have A&W restaurants out here. When I have gone there, they served an ice cold frosty mug of A&W Rootbeer.With a burger ,that is tough to beat. Before I had that Mug rootbeer was my favorite.

Actually if you haven't tried it. Henry Weinhard's rootbeer is the best. Its the smoothest, with the right amount of froth. Hands down it beats other rootbeer and have won many votes among rootbeer drinkers.

I like Barq's root beer because of the crisp taste and the bite at the end.

Diet Barqs...it's the best root beer out there, just like the guy claims on the can.

A&W, that's all there is too it!!!!!! Though my favorite root beer ever is the one I had in Tombstone at Big Nose Kates...it came in a brown glass bottle--there was just something different about it!
