The foundation was really messy and clogged my pores and made me break out. It took a lot of product to make my skin look even. It was such a best selling item, that I ordered it on Sephora.com without hesitation. When I returned it to the physical Sephora store, the sales girl said, "oh yeah, I hate this stuff because it is SOOO messy." Wish I had spoken to her before I bought it! I prefer oil free foundation by Lorac, followed by the bare minerals mineral veil (that product I do like; just not the foundation).

I love Bare Minerals. I have used it for over 2 years and it is the best make up I ever used.
I never tried Loreal or the others. I doubt it is as good but if you are on a budget it can't hurt to try it. Bare Minerals is $25 for a container but it lasts a long time and it is probably a better value than drug store foundation.
I totally recommend it! My face always has a gorgeous glow when I wear it and it lasts all day long. It is vastly superior to any other foundation. You can try it on at the store to find the shade that is right for you. I have bought mine at Ulta before but there are Bare Mineral stores in some locations.

I have been using Bare Minerals for a few months now, and I can honestly say that I will NEVER use anything else on my face.
I had horrible skin when I first began using it. Pimples, red spots, puffy eyes... you name it! I was skeptical at first because I thought there is no way a powder foundation will give me the coverage I needed. But, after trying it I was amazed. For the first few days I couldn't stop looking in the mirror because I couldn't believe how pretty I looked. People actually told me I looked like I had my makeup airbrushed. Everything blends so well, and the colors are Gorgeous!
This is what I do... First, I use the concealer brush and cover any blemishes and red spots I have. Then I buff the foundation on my face with the full coverage kabuki brush. I use an eye product called "well rested" around my eyes (eye lid and under eye) then i use the Blush brush and use Warmth on my forehead, cheeks, nose, and chin. After that, I use Glee on the apples of my cheeks, and Clear Radiance over that. Then I use the Mineral veil over everything to reduce shine. I also recommend a produce from a separate company, PUR Minerals, it is a mineral spray. It works really well with mineral makeup. just one or two sprays sets everything.
I know it sounds like a lot of makeup on your face, but trust me it blends so beautifully that someone could get two inches from your face and not even notice the makeup. The trick is to remember that you do not have to use so much. The first few times I applied it it looked HORRIBLE. I actually cried because I spent like $150 on everything and I thought I wasted my money. But I watched the DVD that came with it and after a few tries, I became a pro :-)
Anyway, I hope this helps! I know I am going on and on, but women spend so much time on their face that I am just so happy that I found something that I love so much :-)
Also, it is so gentle on my face that my skin has actually cleared up a bit. I still have some blemishes, but compared to how my face looked using liquid makeup, it is 100% better.

Bare Minerals Is a must. I know so many people who use it. Go to where someone is selling it (the mall is good) and ask if they could sample some to help find your color. If you do get it buy the kit. The kit comes with all the makeup plus brushes. Now you may say, i only need this one, but trust me the brushes are expensive so the kit is the better deal. It reduces redness and keeps you face from feeling hot during the day. It works really good for the people with rosy cheeks. Trust me it works better then what it says it does.

I use Bare Minerals and Love it!!!! I just bought a foundation, mineral veil, lipstick, 2 eye shadows, a brush for my eyebrows, and eyebrow color. I spent about 140 dollars, but it is well worth it. My husband is a police officer, I have 3 kids, and am a stay at home mommy...needless to say...I am far from rich, but if I can buy something for myself, this is it. I have pretty bad rosacia on my cheeks and it covers perfectly. It is super easy to apply, and a little goes a very long way. With Bare Minerals less is more. Try it I think you'll like it.

There is a company called essential minerals, that is supposed to be as good. They believe in thier product so much that they send you a bunch of free samples. You can look them up on the web.

I hate it! It just looks like regular powder cosmetics when I put it on. I think liquid foundation and concealer works WAY better. I wish I would have returned mine!

My friend used it, she loved how it felt and loved it UNTIL it broke her out badly.
I am meaning to try it but just don't want the hassle of it so early in the morning before I got to work.
