about a week before i start i get cramps for about 2 days and then i wont have anymore until the day i start. i usually get a slightly different colored discharge the day before i start and my breasts get very tender. i get a little bloated and im a bit on the cranky side. i tend to eat a little more than usual a day or two before as well. everyone is different though. if you start taking ibuprofin or some sort of anti-inflamatory about a week before you start and then also when you are on your period it helps prevent so much cramping pain.
i have an electric razor and i think it was about $15 at walmart. i dont love it. it gets the hair really short and its really good if youre in a hurry, but i never get that super smooth feel if i use it. the best razor ive ever used is a mach3 mens razor. its a regular razor and its a little expensive to get refills, but it lasts and make my legs feel silky smooth!

Easy question first, yes, if you read the directions and do what it says electric razors will work. I have one that works wet/dry, sorry I cannot remember the brand, but it wasn't more than $15-20 including the sales tax.
Do you mean the very1st time I ever got it?? Gee,ah that was a very long time ago, but I remember feeling like my attitude was ramped up to being almost combative, and I felt as tho my shorts were sweating from exercise, tho it turned out to be initial onset at which time I lost my appetite and the cramping took over at the same time. A hint: don't skip a meal no matter how much you might cramp and or hurt, because you will regret it and be hungry a few hours after you refuse food. I was always told avoid sodapop it makes you retain salt or water or something. Drink lots of regular water. Keep moving and exercise even tho you feel awful; giving into the uncomfortable aspects only makes them MORE uncomfortable. Pamprin tablets don't work for me but Aleve does. See which pain reliever you like best or try chamomile tea I suppose if you are more natural. Find the products and brands you like then always have some around the house. Sometimes, if you are desperate generic store brands are cheaper, but if you have a stock of your "favorite brand" already at home you will feel better. Depending upon your weight/size you may want to get a different product for nighttime and daytime. Hint they gave me in "the class" at school= Get a pocket calendar and mark little dots on the days when you are "on" then once you are "done" (4-7 days average) keep counting to approximately 25 or 30 days later and that will give you an average of when to expect it again. But when you are starting out sometimes it isn't exactly regular like that. sometimes it's 24 days and sometimes it's 35, but as you get more used to it, it becomes fairly consistent. You may want to get a calendar with a notes page just for your information so you can write down how you felt before. If you must go out or school get a cutesy makeup bag or pencil bag or mini purse with a cute pattern for hiding your essential products in your purse or backpack. No one will know your business unless you tell them, but you have to keep track of when to freshen up! Oh, my face breaks out too, about two days before. Keep medicated face wash pads like a travel pack of oxy or Noxema in a ziplock for freshening your skin, I always looked unusually oily right after lunch. And boys do the skipping showers more than girls but don't forget your extra issues will cause more smell if you aren't bathing as often as you feel you need to, including washing your hair. It's not totally terrible, but keep track of what to expect and you will soon know if there is a problem if something "new" happens. I'm also wondering why you didn't google some girlie site for this answer? Or pick up the body book for girls...or caring for and loving your body a book for girls something like that. Saw it at Target, $10.

Mood swings... Your breasts will feel sore and you'll feel cramps. Use Heating pad with legs up for cramps and try not to drink too much Sugary drinks until after the first 2 days.
Waxing is WAY better and the hair takes longer to grow back.. It isn't the best feeling in the world but it'll pay off in the end.

Well, actually, a day befor my period, I felt sick. I ahd a headache and I had a crap in my stomach. All I could do was lie down on my stomach. And I was bloated and like I said, I felt horrible. But, you know what, it's different for each person. My friend felt the same as me, but it's different for all girls. I had mine Decem. 18, 2006. Not that long ago. And my bday is Jan. 18. lol. If you have any Q's email me!

I got sore breast, bloating, water retention, and slight cramps. Then I get spotting for a day and then wham! the next day I have my period.
There are electric razors for women that are specifically for legs. I have Remington Lady, although I think it was about $100.00 australian dollars.

3 days prior to a peroid, I would experience major "itch" then sudden mood swings, and cravings of certain foods, and then bloatedness, migranes, this lasted for 2 days, then spotting, then major stomach cramps, unbelievable, only 2 500mg tylenol would help this go away... then heavy bleeding for 3 days, sometimes double padding... (gross) ... (and don't bath when having a period, shower rather, more hygenic) and mark this on the calendar if sexually active.... half way thru one's menstrual cycle, one is "very fertile"...
alleviation of all this "drama" , I fell pregnant, after giving birth, no more "trauma" in the period department...
further alternative, have a hysterectomy
another subject altogether
Peace

Bloating, strange food cravings, zits appearing on my face, mood swings, sore breasts headaches and backaches. I just love being a woman! I never tried an electric razor but I believe they maybe safer than regular razors with blades.

The signs that my period was coming was: bloating, irritability, breast tenderness, and also some pain at ovulation.
The tip I have for helping the irritability is taking a multivitamin or B6 (you can buy it in its own bottle or as part of B Complex).
