Why do so many people think the holocaust didn't happen?

I saw a question posted on here a few days ago about the holocaust, and an overwhelmingly amount of people said it never even happened...why do people think this?? And if it is a hoax, which i believe it isn't, but if it is, what would be the motive of staging something like this?

I don't think "many people" believe it didn't happen. Don't get worked up about it. How does humanity "fake" the concentration camps, make up the death of 2 million people, "make up" people to talk about this "farse" as if they were survivors? There is no "motive" of these people that say the holocaust did not exist except that they are anti-semetic ******* that want to spout their mouths off about something. It is not a conspiracy, it is reality. So don't worry about it too much. Do your research on the subject, it is a very sad, hard thing to study, but you will see that it has to be true...

Some people claim that the people that died in the camps did so because of normal war conditions, disease, malnutrition, etc. and that they weren't specifically the object of genocide. As for the decrease in numbers of Jews living in Europe after the war as opposed to before, they account for this by claiming that millions of people migrated to Israel and other parts of the world immediately after WWll.

One of the reasons for Holocaust denial is continuing anti-Semitism. Some anti-Israel people claim that the Holocaust was invented by Zionists as an untouchable excuse to take Palenstinian land and create a Zionist state.

A lot of people didn't want to believe that the Holocaust was happening even while it was going on, because of old World War I propaganda that turned out to be false. I guess it's hard to believe sometimes that man can be that monsterously inhumane to their fellow man.

Unfortunately, the vast weight of evidence, including eyewitness accounts, confirms (to me anyway) that it indeed did happen.

I'm not sure, I did not see the post. I've never heard of people denying the Holocaust, simply because Germany was caught in the midst of committing and it even admitted to its crime...But there are people who still do not accept that the Armenian Genocide has happened and I'd do anything in my power to inform people about that.
