More specifically, i'm looking for a movie or oav (also called ova) with no spoilers to a series or other work.

An example would be the Ghost in the Shell movies which have nothing to do with the series. Another example would be the Inuyasha movies which doesn't alter the storyline. Also please mention any movie like Akira which doesn't even have a series.

What I don't want is like the Fullmetal Alchemist movie that spoils the whole storyline of the series.

Any movie done by Ghibli/Miyazaki's good
Spirited Away - Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi
Princess Mononoke - Mononoke Hime
Castle in the Sky - Tenkuu no Shiro Laputa
Howl's Moving Castle - Howl no Ugoku Shiro
Kiki's Delivery Service - Majo no Takkyuubin
Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind - Kaze no Tani no Nausicaa

Read or Die -3 OVA
hard to find ova that don't spoil a series unless there's no series for the ova in which case the ova sucks

Well, there's Rurouni Kenshin OVA [Samurai X Trust and Betrayal] Although it's from the Rurouni Kenshin series, it dosen't really spoil anything from the series because it's about the character's past, and is really a good OVA series. Same goes for the movie.

Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Howels Moving castle or any other Miyazaki films are self contained movies that are good to watch and don't connect to anything.

Grave of the Fireflies, or Barefoot gen are also good movies to watch, centered around WW2 and are self contained movies.

Vampire Hunter D and Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust

X the movie. Which came before the X TV series and both basically tell the same story.

Movies of Naruto, One Piece, Bleach. These don't really spoil the series since they are like the Inuyasha movies and just one set stories.

Samurai X..... its the back story to Rurouni Kenshin.... my fave anime movie. It doesn't give you series info, but set the series up rather nicely for you so you can see where Kenshin is coming from.
