Life is funny by E.R. Frank is a wonderful, realistic look at several teenage lives and the difficulties they face. I thought it was beautifully written

Try books by Alexander Dumas, Victor Hugo...they are both wonderful writers.
Books: Les Miserables
Hunchback of Notre Dame
Three Musketeers
Oliver Twist
Great Expectations

Hmmm.... looks like a lot of your favorites are also movies....I'd suggest: A Wrinkle in Time; England England; Wizard and Glass (no need to read the rest of the series); Frankenstein; Confessions of an Opium Eater, Paradise Lost, and just to round it out, Mrs. Dalloway. Expand your mind! This pretty much runs the gamut, just google these titles to find the authors. Enjoy!

Start reading more classics like, '1984'. Try 'The Catcher in the Rye' or 'Lord of the Flies' and others that you should have been expected to read in Grade and High School. Try 'A Tale of Two Cities', 'Silas Marner', 'Red Badge of Courage', just take a trip to the library.

Try Foxfire by Joyce Carol Oates
or The Handmaids Tale by Margaret Atwood, or anything else Atwood, since she kind of does the sci-fi social commentary stuff that I see you like.
