Ok. Let's just say I'm not a morning person. I need about 45 minutes to an hour to really wake up. But I am the only one in my family like this. They wake up at 6:30am, same time I do, and start singing and dancing to this really loud music. I just kind of sit there, slightly irritated. They call me a "gloomy gus" and stuff like that.

I'm struggling with this. What do I do?

***i'm totally w/ u. i HATE mornings. my dad used to be up bright and early and be so chipper and it was like WHY!?!? it irritated the heck outta me. i never grew out of it either. but u know what? i never wanted to be a "gloomy gus" for my daughter in the mornings, and i've always done my best to be cheery for her in the mornings. she HATES it. lol i'm not tryin to bug her either...she should be thankful that she's the one person i don't growl at first thing in the morning. she's definately NOT a morning person either.

sorry for rambling on...my pt is u can either "become" a happier person in the mornings like i do for my daughter...just choose to be that way. or u can accept that some of us just aren't as appreciative of mornings as what the strange ones are.

Well, when your family goes to bed.....and they are sound asleep....and 45 minutes has passed and they are in dreamland......then all of a sudden YOU start dancing and singing to some LOUD music and then when they wake up from all of your beautiful singing and loud music and they look all irritated.....look at them all cheery and then ask them why THEY are so gloomy!! LOL

Maybe then will they understand ;)

Well, I would like to know that as well. I usually hit the snooze 5 or 6 times and I don't really feel awake til around noon. This is even after a proper (at least 8 hrs) night's sleep.

I'm a night owl, myself.
Sometimes, I say, "It must be the time of day, you were born..." I was born at 12:59pm.
My oldest and last child was born in the afternoon and at night and they're like me. My husband and middle child were born in the morning and they're chipper, when they wake up... It drives me nuts...
I don't know what to do... Sometimes you can't change certain things, but you can try.

do what every good rock star would do...tell people to "bugger off", grab a cup of coffee and unwind with a little Maury Povich.
