I currently have Sprint which sucks. It was good when I first got it but now that I make and receive more calls it bites. I get lots of dropped calls in some areas of where I live. Who has the best plans and fewest dropped calls? Also will the new company buyout the rest of my contract with Sprint? I have less than six months left.

also wanted to add that the phone i got with the service sucks. Any one else have problems with the LG's. I have a camera phone and it shuts itself off quite frequently and now the screen doesn't always come on when I flip it open.

I had Verizon for quite some time and I dealt with many a dropped call. I have since switched to Cingular and have yet to drop one! I also really like the fact the minutes roll over and can be drawn from up to 1 year. Reception will vary area by area but here in Nevada my reception with Cingular is superior to Verizon in the areas I use it.
I hope this helps. It is a very opinionated question but I hope I give you some good input to consider.
Best of luck!
Just to add: I've had T-Mobile and they were worse than Verizon. I wouldn't recommend either one, but again this is an opinion so take what you will from it ;)

I think it depends on where you live. I used to have Cingular, and it roamed all the time, even at my own house in the middle of a big city, so it got really expensive. I switched to Sprint and have had really good luck with it, and it sure covers more of the country than Cingular did. I don't know the other providers, and I don't think the contracts are transferable between companies, although there is a web site where people exchange contracts themselves.

Sprint is the worst company I have ever had to deal with on a professional level. The company is just retarded when it comes to how they treat their customers. I would suggest either Verizon Wireless or even T-mobile instead of renewing your contract with Sprint. They Just Suck!!

definitely get cingular.
verizon, sprint and pretty much all CDMA networks suck. Any GSM will work PERFECT. I have cingular and have had it for over 4 years... never a dropped call. Always 5-bars service. Yes, i am a cell phone expert

it depends on the area that you live in. you should ask other people that live in different areas of your city, not the people in this forum, most of whom don't even know any better based on some of their answers. don't believe the hype. the bottom line is, some carriers just have better service than others in certain regions, regardless of what they say in their commercials or what the stats say. fyi: cingular/at&t and t-mobile use the same physical carrier lines. t-mobile leases their service from them & resells it under the t-mobile name. so, the only real difference between the two is, who has the best customer service. from what i've heard & read, t-mobile's customer service is rated very high in comparison to the other carriers.

You need to ask your friends in your area what they have and if they like it. Different cell phone carriers give drastically different results in different parts of the country.
I've had verizon for a year now and have never had a single dropped call, and the voice quality is absolutely crystal clear.

I'm with Verizon & they are not the best in the world. From what I've heard, T Mobile is great. I'm gonna switch to them when my contract is up.
