My air conditioner unit has been turning itself on for about 2 mins then back off for about 2 mins. The outside unit stays on though even when the other goes on and off. I have changed my thermostat and charged my freon. Any solutions?

The unit is most probably frozen. You need to turn the a/c to off and fan on. Leave the a/c off for at least 4 hours. This happens if there is a power surge sometimes in the summer w/ summer storms especially. Then turn it back on and you'll finally get some cool air! Good luck.

If your t-stat is working properly and your unit out side is running but the unit inside isn't then it sounds like you might have a bad run capacitor there about $4.00 but if you have a service guy fix he will prob, charge a lot more for it....
You could fix this your self if you wanted to try, e-mail back if your interested in how...
hope this helps good luck

Is it a efficient air unit, nicely-known updraft furnace? if so, it could have overloaded with the aid of numerous motives, and the thermal hyperlink opened on the unit exterior. It shouldn't take 4 days to reset itself, even though it would have tried to restart, found the comparable challenge and saved shutting off. finally, in spite of substitute into inflicting it to demanding initiate, went away. i might make useful each little thing is clean and clean of obstruction exterior so it has stable ventilation. be useful your furnace filters are clean for stable ventilation, and don't close off registers to regulate temps in individual rooms. constrained ventilation over the furnace coils might cause them to ice up, freeze and crack.
