I baught a 55 gal tank that came with the fish. It had an Iridescent Shark that was hyper. Now it is mellow and it's belly is growing. I have other cats in there. Is there a chance one of the other cats mad her pregnant? I have 4 large Bala's 1 small Pictus, 1 Red Tail. an they innerbreed?

It could be overeating...i had one in my 180 gallon and the thing grew a belly the size of a golfball while i was away and having a friend feed them.

Iridescent sharks as far as I know have never been bred in captivity. Also they are schooling fish who do better in groups of 5 or more, with that being said chances are they are not happy enough to even consider breeding. Another point I would like to make is they can reach 4 feet long and you need a minimum of a 10 foot long tank to house 1, so you would need somewhere around a 2000+ gallon tank, otherwise it is going to die prematurely of organ failure. Hate to give the bad news. Sorry

No,they don't get pregnant. They are egg layers and need more room to breed. It is overeating.

it might be bloated or have a swim bladder disease the cats wouldnt make it pregnant.
