Yes. Without the hereafter this life is meaningless. There lies the result of our deeds. We are accountable for an atom weight of good deed as well as an atom weight of bad deed. Finally we have to go there. Crime is less today due to hope that there is hereafter. Suppose if there is no hereafter, people will not be scared to do anything they can.

Well, in the sense that here will still be here after I'm gone. Other than that I rely on empirical evidence that shows that no one has returned from the dead to tell about it. And I don't mean like Jesus, or temporarily dead on the operating table, I mean that no one has yet been resurrected or returned from the dead from another time period, or in such a way that science has to bow down and accept the return of the dead or an afterlife as possible. All i can hope for is resurrection someday. But hope is not always belief.

I HOPE; i think all of us here who answered yes actually HOPES that there is an "after" here (who would'nt?), and so are you. considering the short life span of us humans, i believe it's one great relief to know that there's a stage 2 world somewhere... and it's a possibility isn't? there was no one who proved that there was no life after death, although no one has proved that there was life after death either... i believe it's a matter of faith
