The Bible is like a divine encoded parabolic novel. Otherwise, it wouldn't and it doesn't make any sense.

I believe that the Garden was as written, an actual place. I heard an interesting theory though that got me to thinking. The apple was a metaphor for sex, that is why sex is such a big deal in the Bible.... Virginity and adultery etc etc. made a lot of sense to me, never did understand why having sex was such a big no no in the Bible..... kind of brought some things together for me having to do with the knowledge of good and evil that the apple symbolized.

The Garden of Eden story symbolizes the age when a person first reaches the "age of reason" and is capable of assessing his own actions as wrong. I would agree with you. Did you ever consider what the end of duality is?

Garden of Eden is a metaphor for the garden of Eden! It is referred to in the Old Testament repeatedly as a location know to the world of antiquity.
The Christian scriptures, the gospel of Luke, Paul and probably others showed these things to be real events. If there had been no garden of Eden, no Adam & Eve, there would have been no original sin. Ergo, there would have been no Savior Jesus Christ!
From Luke:
"Furthermore, Jesus himself, when he commenced [his work], was about thirty years old, being the son, as the opinion was,
of Joseph,
. . .
[son] of Seth,
[son] of Adam,
[son] of God."

The Garden of Eden was a literal place...read Genesis in the King James Bible. There is symbolism in the Bible and you'll know by the context when it's being symbolic. The Bible is to be taken literally.

I could believe that, it seems like a lot of the Bible is a metaphor.
