Yes, I do that all the time, especially when I have to make a blood test for my five year old daughter, I literally numb my heart not to hear her scream cause I really have to do it.

No, I strongly believe the only way the pain will ever stop is if you feel it and have to deal with it. Numbing it just prolongs the agony.

i am an expert at being numb, i havent felt any pain in my heart in YEARS! quite good at locking up my emotions, found out a long time ago expressing my emotions was just a waste of time.
