I am going for a school assignment. Should I dress nicely or tone it down. I want to look respectful. I was thinking jeans and an off white knitted sweater and tennis shoes. It will be 65 degrees and I cant wear heels becuase Its in San Francisco and I have to walk. I am just not sure becuase im really white and i dont wanna seem obvious or like I'm trying to show off in any way. Once again I want to look respectful of the exhibit. Thank you soo much!! Please dont me mean becuase im truely serious

You should dress the way you always do. The way you dress, has nothing to do with slavery,The outfit you picked out is fine. Be yourself, and you will be fine. If you try to be someone else, they will see right through you. You are there to learn and see what these people went through, and hope that this will never happen again.

Jeans and a sweater are fine. Wear comfortable walking shoes and quit freaking out because you are white. No one is going to look at you funny or accuse you of putting the ancestors in chains.
