We always put the "real" eggs in the Easter Baskets with the toys and candy.

Then, we use those "plastic" eggs for the backyard Easter Day Hunt. Some of the plastic eggs are large enough to hide small treats inside. Even if it rains on Easter, the plastic eggs will be okay.

Put a couple of decorated eggs in her basket and hide plastic eggs in the yard and especially on with something special in it. Kids always love finding the prize egg. All Easter baskets should have a couple of eggs in them.

Either way. I usually put some eggs along with the other tid bits in the basket, and then hide some eggs outside. I use mostly plastic eggs outside due to the possibility of rain overnight and because you can put little prises in the plastic eggs, such as money; especially for the grand egg. Be sure to have several grand eggs so each child in the hut can find one. If one of the children find more than one grand egg then they have to share with any others that didn't. It is a good way to teach sharing.

Make her basket filled with candy and little toys. Then put eggs in the yard. Make sure they are easy to find cuz she will spend all day looking if they are hard to find! If you want, you can play along too!
