If it sounds to good to be true...then it is...and ones that require money upfront. If its a job then you should be asked to work like a regular employee only have the benefit of working from home instead of an office

You can't...The only way you will know is if you put YOURSELF in control of your business endeavors.
The only way to make money is buy a desirable product the public needs at a low price and sell it for a profit.
Here is a suggestion:
Sell Micro-Fiber Towels.
Your target customers would be Home cleaners, Janitors, Churches wanting to do fundraisers, Car detail shops.
You could give away samples and then those customers end up buying over and over again..
Buy them in Bulk for less than $2.49 ea and resell for $5 or $6 ea
Or sell in packages of 2 per package and sell for $10...
(You can sell more for less effort this way.)
You could even create a free web-site at Yahoo to promote.
Free business cards on Vistaprint
You can buy as little as 5 cloths to try it out...very low start-up just to see if you will enjoy it. If not, use the 5 for yourself...they work great.
I hope this helps and good luck...

Sorry to say it, but yes all work at home jobs are a scam. Dont feel bad, I know a lot of people my age that dont know this yet and have fallen into this trap. When my husband was 18 he fell into the selling knives one. Watch the new movie "Pursuit of happiness" and you will see what it ends up like. Instead of opting for one of these, go to school if you can, I know it doesnt sound like fun but you will definitely be thankful later!

Pretty much any job wanting you to pay $$ to start is a scam.
My Wife has worked for WEST for about a year now doing remote call-center work from our home office
http://www.workathomeagent.com/
Also, a local news station checked out these 3:
http://www.liveops.com/
http://www.chacha.com/
http://www.alpineaccess.com/
Hope that helps!

Hi – I am an established seller on eBay. eBay has been my full time job for 4 years, and I have sold over 12,000 items. I know that doing busines on eBay is legit, not a rip-off.
Please email me directly and I can share more information with you.

Generally, there are all rip offs. Worst if they asked you to pay some fees like signed-up fees. It's difficult to nail them because we do not get to know them in-person thus it's only cybe communications makes it difficult to pin-point who's who!
