Without a doubt poland. Open to the european plain. no natural baries on either east or west and only some mountains to the south which are relatively a minor obstacle. every migration into europe has gone either trhough poland or through hungary. Plus as mentioned above it is trapped between germany and russia

because of being so close to england and smaller too.

i guess wales and scotland could say the same.
