He was arrested for hitting his second wife during a domestic dispute some years ago. You can view his mug shot at www.thesmokinggun.com under "Mug Shot Mania". There's a little bit about the incident on there, too. (His wife at the time was Debra McMichael).

debra claims that steve used to abuse her, but theres no actual proof of that and the whole situation has been kept confidential so its hard to evaluate that...
