Factor each of the following polynomials.

4s + 6st -14st2

Find the GCF of each product.

1) GCF is 6a2b2

2) 4s + 6st - 14st2 is the same as 2s(2 +3t - 7t2)

3) use the FOIL method to combine the terms, then factor finding GCF

FOIL stands for multiplying and adding... first terms, outer terms, inner terms, and last terms

(6y2 - 3y)(y + 7) is the same as....

6y3 + 42y2 - 3y2 -21 y which is the same as

6y3 + 39y2 - 21 y...

now find GCF to this result...

3y (2y2 + 13y -7)

Last problem... area = (length)(width)

therefore,.... we know the length of rectangle is x and area or A is equal to 3x2 + 5x

so in formula format... that is the same as saying

Area = x (width)
3x2 + 5x = x (w) --> w represents the width of rectangle....

divide equation by x...

you get... 3x + 5 = w

so width of rectangle which is w is equal to (3x + 5)!!!
