my elbow and shoulders are constantly in pain. i lose the feeling in my arms easily. i went to the doctor and he said my shoulders were aching probably because of the muscle and not the bone. what's wrong though

You need a second opinion, it could be a pinched nerve in your neck, you said "arms", go to web md or google: cervical radiculopathy and read the symptoms and see if they fit, there are other things that could be going on including circulatory issues but don't accept what the Dr. said if you still feel no relief.
I have lot's of neck and back problems and know it can be frustrating to get someone to listen to your symptoms. Be sure to note if certain things make your symptoms worse, for example position changes (for me riding in the car made my arms go numb), or if it's worse certain times of the day, example when you first wake up.

You may have a "frozen shoulder" which can be treated with an injection of Saline. Ask your doctor to check this out
