Yes, being a man It happens quite frequently. Men HATE to ask directions or admit they are lost and I am just like the rest. [I'm not even sure where the hell I am right now].

Yes, all the time but the most memorable was over 20 years ago. We were stationed in Germany and went to a Rolling Stones concert. We had made reservations at a hotel but after the concert we got turned around and couldn't find anyone who spoke English to give us directions. So, we pulled off the road in a field and took the backseat out of our car and slept the night. The next morning we passed our hotel only a couple of blocks away. What a bummer!

I have taken some interesting accidental side trips! lol
The worst was when I ended up driving around in a field with a bunch of cows that were watching me with a"moo"sement.
Fortunately every time I have ever been that lost I have also stumbled across a member of the law enforcement who unfailingly, and very kindly, always got me back on the right trail...yes, even when I was lost in the pasture! A county sheriff saw me from the highway and came to my rescue.

Oh have I! I wound up I the smokey mountains trying to go from New York to South Carolina, so i looked at a map to find what looked like a short cut, and wound up in some hiily, curvy 25 mph road that went on for hours in the dead of night. Saw my first 'possum out there, I did. I eventually found my way after pulling over and sleeping in my car for five hours.

once i got lost on the way to a conference with my coworkers (1 jewish, 3 black, 2 white) and i tried to turn around on a dirt road off the main road and as we crested the hill, a KKK clan meeting (or rally or something in a field) was going on. some sheeted men came over and one ask me "what's your business here?" and i said i'm lost and needed to find the conference center. and the guy says, "yea, ppl miss that turn all the time." and he gave me directions.

one of the twins, loretta, peed in her pants right there. when i got to the conference parking lot, i puked.

truth is stranger than fiction.

Aound my house we call that a "Road Trip". Some of the best trips we ever took were ones in which we purposely took wrong turns in order to get lost and off the beaten path.
