A SanDisk reader is an option for the XPS 400. If you picked the option, you should be able to see either a door or opening located in a bay that the 3.5" disk drive would go. If the door doesn't open, then the option to have the (4) card readers were not installed.
Options:
1) Get a media card reader and install it yourself, or
2) Get an SD Card adapter (under $20) and use a USB Port
for it.
