The screen is frozen and none of the buttons work. I have tried to plug it into my computer but nothing happens. What should I do?

Here's what you do. (My wife's had the same problem.)

Slide your hold button to the "hold" position and then back again twice. Then press the "menu" and the center ("enter") buttons together and hold them down until you see the Apple logo appear on the screen. This is the reset proceedure and you will not lose anything stored in the unit. It's very easy.

Good luck, I hope this helps!

Reset your ipod,

. Make sure that iPod is plugged into AC power or your Mac via FireWire.

2. Toggle the Hold switch on and off.

3. Press the Play/Pause and Menu buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears onscreen.

4. The iPod has been reset.

Note: some custom settings may be lost. The on-the-go playlists are emptied, Main menu returns to its original state, and the alarm clock will be turned on

Hold the Center and Menu buttons until the iPod resets. (you will see the Apple logo) The iPod does NOT have to be plugged in to a computer.

what you have to do is reset your ipod, hold the menu and the middle button for a while and a little apple should come up and that should fix the problem

ps im not sure if its the menu and middle button or the puase/play button and the middle button try them both
