Bush is just covering his ***. He'll happily scapegoat some low ranking military members just like he did with Abu Graib.
If he doesn't act all concerned when someone gets caught with their hand in the cookie jar he loses all credibility with the mainstream.
Do you represent the Rupublican point of view by implying that killing civilians is okay? Not a nesasary side-effect of war , but in fact something that is pretty cool becasue they are just a bunch of rag-heads anyway? Even your beloved GOP wouldn't issue that kind of policy statement.

Marines are new to SOCOM, the natural aggressiveness of the Marine Corp, especially in an ambush situation, and the expectation of political correctness when being atacked is an unnatural setting to them. Marines are trained to counter attack with overwhelming force and to fire for effect as well as searching out a target to nuetralize the attackers.
The devil dogs have been withdrawn to receive some sensitivity training. (excuse me while I go puke)
The USMC is only participating in SOCOM for additional funding, it has long been held that the Corp is SOF qualified but they are loosing money to other branches and need to step up to the plate if they want the funding.
I say BS, let the corp do it's job. If they have to be ham strung by political correctness on the battle field then get them off the battle field, because Marines are life takers not asskissers.
Socom is so bad that as recently as last year I had a SEAL E9 tell me that the SEALs do the same thing as the Marine Corp. What a crock of BS.
The general that recalled the SOCOM Marine team did the right thing because of the reasons I stated above.
THE PRESIDENT DID NOT TELL THE GENERAL TO WITHDRAW THE MARINES.

Im not a dem or republican im an independent! I think that Bush is a globalist who is pushing forth this new wolrd agenda.The dems also contain globalists such as the Clintons ,Gore ,Leiberman to name a few. Is it ok to have an investigation to see if there was anyone killed maliciously? If they were killed by firing squad, wouldn't you want someone to pay for the crime? If it was an accident, that is one thing, but someone needs to pay for it if it was something other than that?

Those marines drove off after being attacked and machine gunned multiple cars as they escaped.
Bush's failed policies put them in this predicament. If not for the distraction in Iraq, Afghanistan would be a done deal by now. Bush is an idiot.
