India had the capability. Until 1991 the Indians were largely slaves to the political rulers. Now they have got some economic freedom. Free people innovate, work hard to improve their economic conditions and do not face oppression from the State. When more and more freedom comes, the people make rapid progress. Their competence and skills sharpen as they not only compete with in the domestic market but across the globe. This creates opportunities for economic exchange, trade and investments between India and other countries. When 100 crore of people are expected to make big economic strides, all other countries take notice and try to find out possibilities of mutually beneficial exchange with India.
That's the India story that attracts international attraction. They hope that Indians will now realise their true potential: they find early signs of that though not sure what India will finally do.

Well firstly I must say that it's a very nice question. The reason that India recently attracted a lot of media attention and a lot of global attention is because of various factors contributing to her rapid growth.Every-body around the world is amazed to see our country grow so rapidly despite the obstacles like corruption, poverty, gender inequality etc.Everybody today respects Indian's as India has now virtually grown and reached to every part of the world, there is a mini-India in every country and some cases there is a mini-India in every state.Indian's are now holding strong positions like Shri.L.N Mittal the world's third richest man.On a lighter note we can also say that the contribution made by the Indian Railways under the Leadership pf Mr.Laloo Prasad Yadav, has attracted a lot of top class business schools from all over the globe. So to conclude I would say that there is no stoping India from becoming a new super power, you should also see the India Poised video and you would know that now its time to fly for India.

Since, 1991 all major sectors were public sectors. Private companies were not allowed to have a share in them. Since 1991 liberalisation started taking place and multinational companies were allowed to have a share of the market. At the same time the middle class percentage of Indians was increasing due to the IT boom and services sector. So private companies now have access to reach a huge (coz of the huge population) market and everyone wants a share in it. Thats y all big companies are going to India and that y every newspaper and TV channel is coverin it.
India has now come out of its image of a developin nation and is now a developed nation. No TV or newspaper can neglect such growth in such a small time...10-15 yrs

India started to invest heavily into technology (especially the software industry) about 10 years ago. The results are finally paying off. Consulting companies know that now they can get knowledgeable labor for half the cost.
