It might help to first pinpoint why you think they ARE boring. Can you tell me what's NOT so great about them?

What most people will tell you is that it's pointless, easy fighting and that it's too kiddy. What most people don't know is that the game is more complicated than what it seems. I wonder how many people here know of Effort Values and how each Pokemon has them and how it affects their stats, or how each Pokemon has set IV points that determine their basic stats. All those things can affect the outcome of a battle, and separate the winners from the losers in competitive battles. The games involve a lot of strategy, so complaining about their simplicity isn't going too look too good on ya if you don't know what you're talking about.

What can make it fun is being able to come with a strategy that others having used. It gets annoying to have everyone use the exact same Pokemon because everyone thinks they rock. It's really fun to make people use stupid when you use one of the "weaker" Pokemon, and not those big over-inflated legendary ones.

It depends a lot on your point of view and what kind of games you like. If you were in every way referring to the show, then most people, even great Pokemon fans like me, will agree with you. The English dub SUCKS, but it gets a whole lot better in Japanese.

and i have played some of the games and they are very boring... i even watched the show once, and it was even more boring than the games.

It is okay if one thinks that pokemon games are boring... To each his own! For me, i cant help agreeing that the cartoon is a digrace to the name of anime... But i think that the game is interesting as it involves calculus(oh yes, it does! dont knock on it till you've tried it) mysteries, strategy and RPG elements. It helps too that the graphics are nice.
However, it definetly ISNT okay when he/she goes around labelling those who like it as "childish". It is a matter of perception. If i were to find that watching grown men running after a silly white ball for 90 whole minutes with just one aim: getting it into the goal, a waste of time,am i suppposed to label football fans? They'd fire back, that football involves strategy, teamwork, etc...Its the same case with pokemon here. Some like it, some dont, simple as that.
As for those who diss others(childish, limited mental capabilities, what-have-you.) heres food for thought for you:
It takes one to know one.

My innovations for 2 vs 2 mixtures: Gyarados and Togekiss (Hatch Togepi, advance happiness then use wonderful Stone). Togekiss can use roost to repair wellbeing, Fly for HM Fly, the different elemental assaults to cover different weaknesses (Flamethrower, Grass Knot, Solarbeam, Shadow Ball, Psychic). Gyarados can study Earthquake, Thunder, Surf and snowfall. Togekiss is resistant to floor and ghost assaults. Gyarados to floor. So Earthquake does not impact the two of them jointly as hitting the two between the warring parties. Very effective mixture. Vaporeon and Gyarados. Water soak up heals Vaporeon whilst hit with water style strikes as a replace of unfavorable. Surf hits all of us else (different than person) and restores Vaporeon's HP... handy hiya? Jolteon is comparable with Volt soak up, soaking up all electric powered strikes. somewhat a mind-blowing combination with yet another Jolteon then shop making use of discharge :D and instruct one Dig, Hyper Beam and the different Shadow ball and Iron tail. Very cool combination... Others i've got tried is Milotic and Leafeon, Rapidash (can take transport of Passho Berry to weaken Water strikes and taught photograph voltaic beam :D merely advance speed and use Sunny Day) and Gyarados.

Absolutely nothing. Other then it entertains the limited mental capacity of our population majority. Only a minority of the population like us are far too intelligent to be entertained by Pokemon.

new ones or old ones. Oh I guess they're kinda the same. Things change over the years. Shakespeare is a lot less interesting to most people then he was in the 1600s

Because they are soooo long that when you finally accomplish something in the game, you are more excited then you would be in a regular game. Just goes to show that instant gratification isn't as satisfying. It's also addictive, like tetris. who would have thought that a game stacking blocks would become so popular but it did.

Well, many people, including myself, enjoy the simple joys of leveling us a Bulbasaur or Charmander. You see, it's the mix of RPG, dungeon crawling, and collecting that make Pokemon special.

Also, it's one of the inaugural handheld RPG franchises, and that in itself deserves props.

I hope I was a help.
