My wife had very smooth fair skin when we were dating, and she didn't wear make-up that often, sometimes not at all... and I never minded really, she is beautiful without it. She's not 19 any more, and she does wear it a little more often now, I still don't really care either way. It's her body, her skin, her hair... she can do whatever makes her feel good.
I say if your curious about it check it out. She likes the Clinique brand make-up because she has very sensitive skin and it has never bothered it like other brands have. You can get it at Dillards, and they are usually very helpfull and keep good records of what you buy and what you like. I know this because if I get her some make-up as a gift, it's a no-brainer... they just pull her file up and I'm able to get the right stuff every time. They usually do a great job of setting you up with the right colors and stuff and giving you just what you want and ask for... my wife has always been very happy with their service and suggestions. Have one of the girls at the counter give you a little make-over... if you don't like it you're not obligated to buy anything really.
To answer your question about "do guys like the idea that a girl really cares about herself? Her appearance? Why?"
I think most do... but make-up doesn't necessarily make you more attractive. My idea of a girl that really cares about herself is one who has good hygene and smells really good. And I would notice bad make-up way before I would notice a lack of it. Nothing is worse than seeing someone with make-up caked up on their face and it's a completely different shade than their natural skin tone so you see that "line" around the jaw line where the skin just changes color. Or lips that are painted on way out past the persons natural lip line. Make-up is fine, but be realistic... you can't paint on a new face with it. I say do what makes you feel good.

makeup is to cover flaws and make one look more appealing. If you have never worn makeup and you're content with the way you look naturally then don't sell out under the pressure to conform to all the other girls around you. If you don't want to simply don't. But if you do try start with a subtle change (for ex. use a little foundation or concealer and a little lip gloss.) feel it out. then try eyeliner. if you don't like it it's no big deal. if people like you more because of the makeup you wear they're not even worth your time.

Well, to each their own.
Girls wear makeup to either hide something and cover it up, or accentuate their features. For instance, long eyelashes can be made dramatic with the use of mascara. The use of makeup draws the best features out if applied correctly.
If you are uncomfortable with wearing makeup, then you should either try different things you can change your appearance with or you can start off with natural looking makeup, keeping it small and light.

Hmmm well there are a lot of reasons
Scientifically - Putting on make up actually releases endorphines, that make you happier. It boosts your mood and creates confidence. It just makes women feel sexy and great to put it on! And...not only that, when people see make up it makes OTHER people happy because it releases endorphines in their brains too. Crazy, but I watched a whole documentary on it.
Artistically - I love the artistic side of make up, the beautiful colours, a swirl of sparkly lipgloss here, a dash of beautiful eyeshadow there...and you become a master piece. Your own work of art. It's FUN to put on! It's boring to always look at the exact same face you've had when you were a little girl, make up makes you more mature-looking, lack of make up...unless you have a stunning and naturally gorgeous face, can make you look almost childish.
Some guys like make up, some guys don't. The bottom line is, do what YOU like. If you like wearing make up, you don't want to attract a guy who doesn't like make up...you want one who will think you're amazing no matter what. If you like being a natural girl, find a guy who digs the natural look.
I always wear make up, I have no problem getting boyfriends. I don't look bad without it either. I don't feel fake. The key to make up is to ENHANCE your already beautiful features, not to cover them up. Remember that. Its the number one rule.

Most guys don't even notice if you have it on.And be your self.don't start wearing makeup just because a lot of Lady's wear all that and some times it doesn't help to make them look any better.I asked all my male relatives and they like girls without makeup better than those with it on.Your natural self is the way to go.if you want to wear makeup than do it very lightly, just a little blush and a little eye shadow.BUT YOU DON"T HAVE TO WEAR MAKEUP TO BE PRETTY.

makeup isnt all that bad besides u dont have to put on all that much it just enhances ure beauty u dont have to put on alot u dont even need mascara. all u have to do is add a little lip gloss(colorless if u want) u can put on a light shade of blush or whatever fits ure skin tone so it doesnt stand out that much. if u have blotchy skin use a foundation that kind of blends with ure skin tone. or u could go to a salon so they can make u over profesionally i mean u dont want to look like mimi on "the drew carey show" lol (if uve seen dat show [u probably have] u know wat im talking about) lol again

Applying make-up is not that special to me.. too... I mean that is great.. friend... keep it up...but .. as the girls tend to move out with others in the commom places may be in the collages, they try to be a little keep their mindset/confidentiality / self esteem/ satisfaction/ groomed/ etc., a lttle well palces position,,, by applying all these coulourful artifiacial things like lipsics, blushers, eye shadows, lip gloss, etc.,, those things will come second if you are really attractive otherwise in always.. as long as you try to be really you.. is a great acheivement these days that is 100% of girls tend to wear these things to boost their level up a bit...so without those is 100% perfect,, and one could be proud of herself .. to say that i don't wear make-ups.... Dear friend certian things are really depend on person to person very from one another.. so please make up your mind to be your self first and not a follower... try to lead your way by your own practices... Cheers!!

I only really wear make up when I'm going out somwhere special. There's nothing wrong with choosing to wear make up or choosing not wear make up. If someone wears it because it makes them feel good is there really any crime in that? As I said it's a personal choice that people shouldn't be judged on, it's not like wearing make up (or not) makes you who you are.

im 16 and ive used makeup for the longest time. it just makes me more confident. i think women use makeup to feel confident; i think u should do whatever makes you feel good about yourself. if you feel u look good without makeup than theres no need for it. if you feel u do need it, thats fine too.

i have only worn makeup once and hated it and i haven't ever since and i feel better without it and its up to you if you want to where it or not and if girls are wearing makeup they are odiously trying to hide something.
