I have an onbaord ATI Xpress 200 and it uses about 128MB of my RAM. My computer has one 512MB stick but my computer says the maximum available is for use is 384. is there anyway without buying more memory or a new video card to decrease the amount of RAM my onboard Videocard uses

Yes it is possible. Restart your PC. The first screen you see when you turn on the computer will say something along the lines of pressing a certain key to enter setup. Once your in here, it has a bunch of options, one of them is for video card memory allocation and you can change it to the desired amount.

For many years now good quality video cards have their own on-board memory. They use that memory and their own on-board processor to do all the video work. What's using up all your memory are the programs you're running and what's needed to support Windows and create Desktop in your log-on Profile.

seems today you buy a video card with its own ram on board.
but here is working fine with ram upgrade to 1 gig.on mother board.
