does anybody play guitar and for how long?

I do. I started teaching myself when I was 14. That was 44 years ago. I currently have my 6 string Guild and 2 knock arounds. I used to have a 12 string but had to sell it years ago when I needed rent money!!
Actually, I played my Roy Rogers guitar as a young child, on one string. I remember playing Everly Brothers songs and the intro to "The Dick Van Dyke Show" and "Gunsmoke" on one string.

P.S. I also play flute and I am in the Bell Choir at church.

Yes, all my life. Remember my first little plastic one that wouldn't stay tuned. Now I collect them. Have a Gibson my dad had. I'm not very good and I won't play for anyone else. I love guitars though. Makes my fingers feel good and I love them across my leg.

Yes. I've played guitar since I was I was fifteen-years-old, and I'm now fifty-years-old. I play a variety of instruments, by the way. I play piano, oboe, guitar, vibes, and penny whistle.

I love music, not only the acoustic guitar,which I can play "How much is that doggie in the window" and
for the Keyboard panio

but also rock and country.

No, I have one that my Grandpa gave to me when I was smaller. I haven't learned how to play it yet, but I should learn, shouldn't I.
