"Last Kiss", the answer to your question, was written by Wayne Cochran in 1962 and originally performed by Wayne Cochran & the C.C. Riders. In 1964, J. Frank Wilson and the Cavaliers performed another rendition. In the 60's a Peruvian rock band, Los Doltons, performed this song in Spanish. The song was remade by a band named Wednesday in late 1973. In the early 90s, rock singer Gloria Trevi performed an extended Spanish version. And finally, Last Kiss was performed in 1999 by Pearl Jam.

"Tell Laura I Love Her" - J. Frank Wilson
and "Last Kiss" - Pearl Jam are the only two I can think of.
I think Rose has the best answer.
One about a boyfriend dying is: "Leader of the PacK" by the Shangri-las. (Died from a motorcycle accident)

Oh where, oh where, can my baby be
The Lord took her away from me
She’s gone to heaven so I’ve got to be good
So I can see my baby when I leave this world...

Last Kiss is an original song J. Frank Wilson & The Cavaliers that was re-recorded by Pearl Jam.

Did some scrapbooking myself today with a group ranging from early 20's into the 60's...I'm in the middle. We forgot our radio! Glad you got the name of that song. Drives you nuts otherwise, doesn't it?
