I am 1 day away from my due date and I think i might have had a contraction. Last night i was standing in the kitchen doing the dishes when all of sudden my stomach got this tight feeling and got really hard. It felt kind of like a charlie horse. The reason i asked is that it only happened one more time after that and today nothing like that happened. im just worried and am wondering if i should go in and get checked by the doctor.

the contractions I had were nothing at all like they were 'supposed' to be--they felt just like period cramps.
I had a doc appt that day and he sent me straight to the hosp.
I was only in labor for an hour, lol
I would call the doc if you are concerned.
it may just be false labor though

Sounds like Braxton Hicks contractions. If they appear to be common, you must leisure and drink a few water. The extra hydrated you're the fewer you'll have them. If you have been in early hard work, the contractions would not stop, they could simply maintain getting more potent. As a long way as the release, so long as there's no scent or whatever, it is usual. Your frame raises vaginal discharge in instruction for supply, it's going to occur via the leisure of your being pregnant. The diarrhea used to be most often whatever you ate.

That sounds like a contraction.

A contraction feels different to different women and can be affected by the baby's position as well.

In general, a contraction might feel like a tightening or tingling that gradually tightens over your entire abdomen. You may just feel a cramping sensation or pressure.

If you are not experiencing any concerning symptoms, such as bleeding, a fever, and they are not in a steady pattern every few minutes etc. you probably don't need to get checked out just yet.

It sounds like a false contraction. If it really bothers you then definitely have it checked out by your doctor, if for no other reason than to relieve the stress you are now feeling. If it happens again, then simply call your doctor. It may take a bit for him to call you back, but he can tell you better than anyone what to do. If he is taking too long, you can also call your local hospital and ask to speak to a nurse, I have done this in the past myself, and they have always been very helpful. I wish you well in your delivery.

It could be contractions. I know the same thing happened to me and I wasn't sure if I was having contractions and I finally called my doc and went in and they told me I was 8 centimeters dialated and I didn't even know. You might want to get checked out just in case,

If anything persists that troubles you, see your doctor. A contraction will be distinct and believe me you'll KNOW it when you get one. But relax, especially if this is your first baby, they (99.999% of the time) take hours on end of contractions and labor to arrive into the world. Good luck to you and your blessed new baby.

Could be Braxton-Hicks. Also, if this is your first baby, your real contractions will be constant and may go for hours. I didn't realize my contractions were real until my water broke, and even then, they weren't very painful, just constant.

YOU PROBLEY ARE IN THE FIRST STAGES BABY GETTING SETTLED IN TO GO. YOU SHOULD NOT CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR UNTILL CONTRACTIONS ARE REGULAR AND DEPENDING ON HOW FAR FROM THE HOSPITAL YOU LIVE 15 TO 5 MINUTES APART CLOSER YOU LIVE THE LONGER YOU CAN WAIT. GO IMEDIATLY TO THE HOSPITAL IF YOUR WATER BREAKS BECAUSE SOMTIMES BABIES COME VERY QUICKLY AFTER THAT AND YOU DO NOT WANT TO TAKE CHANCES.
