Phoenix Bakery (in China Town) has to be the bst place in all LA (No Joke) it's famous for its unbelievably strawberry cake, made with fresh strawberries. Not too sweet, amazingly soft and tasty cake. A must go.

okay in the San Fernando valley there is a couple(husband and wife team) that use to only make pastries for the hotels in the LA (fancy hotel like the Wilshire , Marriott...so on) then one day they decided to open a mini retail place now 10 years later they still make it for the hotel but they had to move to their 3rd location (bigger location and the whole family works there now ) due to the high demand they have absolutely the best pastries in LA alot of mini mom and pop cafes order from them but claim that they make it themselves i mean every thing is to die for i now live in Las Vegas (i used to be the only client he had that was a none hotel client in the beginning, before their retail shop because my dad was he mechanic he he) but when ever i visit LA i make sure that i go and get some dessert (and cakes) when i did live in LA that was the only place i would order any any kind of sweets from ....I'm including the website hope you try them out and enjoy them as much as i did and do (i have been to Porto's (once) cause someone said it was good..i was disappointed compared to Edie's)
