well it depends on the position the baby is in because at my next appiontment I am going to be 16 weeks and they said that if my baby stays in the same position we will be able to tell at that appointment. it all depends on where the baby is. but it starts at about 16 weeks and up because that is when the babies genital area is fully formed and able to be seen by you and your Dr. If your B/F wants to know then you should let him if he wants it to be a surprise then you should both wait and be surprised together. Waiting also makes the birth more exciting. Good Luck

An ultrasound is most accurate for gender between 20-24 weeks.

Can you tell sooner?

Yes, but the results are less reliable.

There are other ways to check gender such as CVS testing or an aminocentisis, but these carry other risks.

They can be performed earlier in pregnancy, such as 12 weeks or so.

I had an ultrasound at 15 weeks with my second daughter(this was 7 years ago) and they could see that she was a girl. The technician said that they could tell as early as 13 weeks...but I think it depends on the skill of the tech.

A lot of ppl say 18-20 weeks...idk when these ppl had their kids....a decade ago? They can usually tell a lot sooner!

You can tell either through an amnio after 16 weeks (100% certainty, although it carries other risks), or through the anatomy ultrasound which is typiclly between 18 and 20 weeks.

I found mine out at about 5 months... about 20 or 21 weeks. both boys and girls are blessings from God. So don't be choosy, instead be thankful :-)
Take care and God bless.

At about 5 months gestation as long as he/she is not shy during the ultrasound. That happened w/my wife and me. We ended up having to get a 3D/4D ultrasound for about $150 to find out we were having a boy.

In theory, you would be able to tell with ultrasound at 13 weeks. Again, that's in theory.

In practice, you'll likely find out sometime soon after the 18th week.
