Well, this probably comes WAY to late to be of any practical help for you THIS time, but walking always helps me. Just put one paw in front of the other... And, if you can stand the taste, "Alka Seltzer". You are probably too young to remember the ad campaign "I can't believe I ate the whole thing". I'm not sure exactly what it does, but it helps. Also, the ginger thing listed above helps. Ginger ale does not contain enough ginger to do much good, but look for candied ginger at the grocery store or at your local Asian market. It's really yummy.

Ginger helps digestion. Try ginger tea, gum or chews.You may also consider papaya tabs. They are supposed to help. Tums and simethecone can cut the heartburn and bloat if you don't mind the taste and have no medical issues. Getting up to walk is still probably the best option.

try chewing gum, the extra saliva you create helps the food digest faster.
