the genocide in sudan has been called 'the world's worst humanitarian crisis of the 21st century' and yet nothing is being done to stop it. few people know about it and few people care...WHY? children have seen their families butchered and mothers have seen their kids burned to death and nobody cares! WHY!? (yes i am slighltly pissed right now)

Because all the western countries are to busy pushing their own agenda to help out a country that they can gain no economic benefit from. it's a disgrace. Can you believe, and i'm ashamed to admit this. the australian (or maybe victorian) government was going to limit the number of sudanese people that can enter our country because some of them have been violent. that is just sick. The immigrants have grown up in civil war, they need help, they need to be rehabilitated so we were planning to leave them in hte country they're fleeing because a few of them commit crimes. hello, a few white people commit crimes too!

More should be done in the Sudan most definately, and i guess we as citizens are going to have to push the agenda.

we are never powerless, we can never not help. we just don't want to.

The conflict started in 2003, more than 400, 000 have been murdered, entire villages have disappeared, millions have been displaced and now live in refugee camps teeming with sickness, lack of clean water, shelter and food.

Why hasn't the world done anything? That's a good question. China and Russia, members of the security council are trying to block a UN report on this genocide. Why? They have economic interests in the country.
On a communal level, society has not deemed ethnic cleansing a priority. Our political leaders don't care, we don't care and so Africa is forgotten. Why do you care? What are you planning on doing?
