Oh, man. Once the Strokes influence an entire generation of musicians and the population of the entire western hemisphere you can re-ask this question. Until then, there's no comparison. The Doors.

I know that everyone is going to say the doors, but the strokes are my absolute #1 favorite band of all time. I'm listening to Is This It right now at work. Albert Hammond Jr. (The Guitarist) released a CD and it's awesome
The Strokes are #1 and you know what the black man says is law...

I don't even know who the Strokes are, but nobody compares to The Doors. Jim Morrison was a bloody genius. Plus, they are in the Hall of Fame.

The Doors...in particular Morrison. Who epitomizes "rock god" more than him. Talent, looks, voice and he even dressed better than his peers. Not to mention the Doors pulled off rock music without using a bass guitar.

the doors! they're my favorite band i own all their albums and know practically all their songs by heart! i love jim's deep voice and his lyrics that are so poetic... i also love their original organ sound and style which is psychadelic and weird - they just take me elsewhere everytime i listen to them. i wish i were born 55 years ago just to be able to see jim morrison hehe... the strokes are not bad to listen to but their not the type of band that i want to own some of their songs.

They're both good. The Doors were interesting. Morrison didn't know music theory but could tell the guys what he wanted. It turned out pretty good, pretty neat huh?
