I like the boys name, both of them infact, but the girls name looks like it would give people problems. Remember, one day your child is going to grow up and other adults will have to say her name for job interviews and such. Other than that it is lovely.

Honestly, I think this is more of a culture issue. These names are definitely not from your ordinary run-of-the-mill baby names book - in fact they look rather exotic.

Bottom line: if there's a tradition behind these names, then go right ahead. I'm sure your children will appreciate having something of their culture to be proud of. I've known many Asians who had Anglo-Saxon names but later switched to their traditional names in their languages. If you're looking for foreign-sounding names just for the sake of it, I suggest that you reconsider your decision and pick out something less likely to be targeted by bullies. There's nothing wrong with a simple, solid MIchael or Jennifer.

*Niyema Ja'Khia

You are, in all seriousness, thinking of dowering a defenseless baby girl with this "name"? Truly, whenever I see a "name" that looks like some random mishmash of syllables, or a "name" with punctuation in it, I wonder how the parents can be so cruel.

Is there ANYTHING I can say to talk you out of it?!

*Micah Rashad

This is a nice, obviously ethnic, but dignified and classical name.

yes, I definetely like Micah Rashawn because I named my brother's middle name as Rashawn. But they're both beautiful names.

I like those names. Especially the middle name for the girl. That's my neice's name. We spell it J'Khia though. And for the boy name I like Rashad better as the middle name.

I like Niyema, although I like it spelled Naima better. I don't care for the middle name. I do like Micah Rashad though.

Both are lovely. I have friends named Naiima, pronounced the same as Niyema and Micah. Respectful and civilized people pronounce their names correctly.

naming your child is an honour but just remember any difficulty you may have ever had with your name.. Though these seem to be some great african names they might present a problem for your child... if you really want to be a hippy let your child name themself. when they turn 4 or 5 you say what do you want you rname to be... Picaboo Street did it.. She told her parents she wanted to be names peek a boo! HA HA GOOD LUCK WITH NAMING! !

i like rashawn better and neima jakeeia than naiyema ja'khia. i once heard from people to never put (')'s in names because they get your public files confused such as visas, credit card statements, passports and birth certificates.
