Everyone is responsible, from the Indian Cricket Control Board. Indian bowling dept. managed to control the Sri Lankan batting line up, but they conceded more singles due to the poor performance of Indian fielders. It helped to the Sri Lankans to make a decent score, otherwise the score would be below 200. This was the drawback while India bowled, even then I think 240 - 250 was a good total for Indian batsmen to chase, because all of the Indian batsman were world class players than Sri Lankan batsmen.

When it was the turn for India to bat, Saurav and Uthappa started digging the grave. They went for some big shots instead of taking singles and those shots were similar to the suicide attempts. It was then the turn of Little Master and Master blaster failed to measure the bowling of Fernando. If we are noticing the graph of Sachin Tendulkar, it is easy to find that, most of his runs came while he played as an opener. Uthappa was failed to find score on the previous two matches, so I think Sachin was the perfect man to open with Saurav. The rest we know, Yuvraj throw away the wicket for an unwanted run. So it was Indian batsmen who digged their grave in West Indies.

Indian coach failed to understand that, Indians don't have a good record in a bowling pitches and most of the recent Indian victories are on batting pitches. So, he was responsible to teach the Indians, how to play on those type of wickets. My personal suggestion is rather than making money, Indian Control Board has to produce some good pitches similar to the conditions of other cricketing nations and all of the domestic matches should be played on that kind of surfaces. Indian One day team selection should not be based on Test Cricket analysis, we have to select two separate teams, one for ODIs and the other for Test matches. This will help the Indian Cricket as well as the Indian Cricket players.

In ODI Games, one may posssess the best team on paper, which is what India had, and certainly they had the ingridients to make it to the next level. However, as associated with India, when it comes to performing at the big stage, especially on foreign soil, they continue to be the chokers and their classy players never ever lead from the front. One may blame the Coach , Captain and all other. But it boils down to the eleven on the field and how they perform. And perform they did , not to their ability and teams such as Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, out classed their mighty neigbours. It was a debacle waiting to happen given that India is a team comprising of highly paid under-performers, and its the billion plus population who need to take part of the responsibility for blindly following India. To win matches it takes more than hype and backing! If a team is to be considered as a favourite, they have to win outside their home territory, and thtas why teams like Australia, South Africa and more recently, New Zealand and Sri Lanka have achieved, and thats why they are considered as top contenders for the cup, but Cricket and especially ODI is game filled with glorious uncertainities, and it could well be a non fqncied team may win, and in Indias' case, they were too fancied to win, especially by their fans!, and they have to share the responsibility!

India always trust batsmen over bowlers, thats the fault
because they kept happy when Zaheer got some good swingers in the pitch !! but they forgot that if zaheer is able to swing then how would Murali and vass will be bowling.. thats the point where they failed to think !!
Indian team never changes fielding arrangements according to the favourite area of batsmen in the play,
i am telling the truth !! i know sachin will not play well in a chasing match , only yuvraj and dravid are always match winners , but if yuvraj could have been a little conscious we could have win ,
coming to the bowlers , nobody utilized Bouncers but used extras
change team like 5 batsmen, 3 allrounders , 3 bowlers that will work ,

The reason for India's debacle in the world cup was due to collective failure of batsmen and bowlers. The team playing in the world cup was considered the best available in the country and were expected to show better performance. What is surprising is that the batting line up of India which has been considered the strength of Indian team failed miserably in the matches against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh and the bowlers were erratic in their line and length and the accuracy. Fielders were waiting for the ball come to them instead of chasing the ball and prevenmt runs.

I think there are three main 4 main persons because of which India could not perform well
1) Utthapa. He made only 23 runs in 3 matches.
2) Dhoni. He did not give the support India required from him.
3) Harbhajan Singh. He gave away a lot too many runs.
4) Greg Chappel. He did not take anything seriously.

I feel its the over hyped players are rsponsible for the debacle.

Its also the lack of proper planning. Our people become clueless once they are faced with crisis situation.

They are not courageous enough to face challenges which unfirtunatley is the prime quality of champions.

This can be confirmed by the WAY they lost to Srilanka..There was absolutely no fighting spirit.Everybody was cluless as to what to do and they simply crumbled under pressure.

Probably they went into the match thinking " What would happen if we lose? ". Such pessimism only increases the pressure.

Yoou cannot pinpoint a single player for what indian team did in the world cup. I think the whole indian team is responsible.

Players like Sachin and Dhoni are responsible one should not blame Rahul Dravid knowing he is the only player in team who plays for country neither its Chappel's fault because he can't control what you do on field. This is the time when senior players have to stood up and accept there fault.

The team as whole. No point in lambasting the coach and captain. Dravid did really well against SL
