For the past four years I have been trying to divorce my husband. When I hired a friend of mine to work for my company she started sleeping with my husband, I went to Orlando for the week-end and came home to him telling me that Barb had moved in and I could stay if I wanted. Needless to say I left and left everything there.

Because of the business I cannot get a divorce I can afford, every attorney wants $20,000 retainer and since I do not get any funds from the business I cannot pay for it. He doesn't want the divorce because Florida is 50/50,

I have tried everything, women's right's groups, legal aide, just a plain divorce and give him everything, still he refuses to pay for the divorce or even go through with it with me paying. I am sooooooooooo frustrated and soooooooooooo upset after all these years, years I have actually lost, could not meet anyone else and love them or marry them, I'm still married.

Does anyone have a "real" suggestion about what I can do?

File without an attourney. If you are willing to let him have everything anyway, no loss.

You can fill out and submit the papers. If you need the judge to decide something, just indicate that and you are more than likely to get something from it as a result.

Go on line! You can get a divorce that way! And it doesn't cost 20 thou. Those lawyers wanted that much because of the business. A simple divorce may cost up to 500 or 600 hundred dollars. Worth a try. You can also go to an office supply store and sometimes they have what you need to file yourself, all that you need to do is have it notarized and file it with the court. And most libraries have a notary, and it's free.

you could always kill him. but no for real you could still get a divorce even if he doesn't want it because all it takes is one not want to be in the marriage and I have to say I am sorry for the way he did you. That a wussy way of doing it if you ask me and for your friend they deserve each other and because they both cheated one will cheat on the other. What comes around goes around is what I say but you need to keep asking lawyers because you may come across one that will do it for a low cost or wait until you get your half of the div core Good luck and don't give up God will deal with those two.

No here's something wife just said, sitting right here(LAWYER/CPA) You can sue him on retainer for emotional distress, but see a counselor at least 5 times before you start lawsuit and document the distress!

TAKE EVERYTHING INCLUDING HIS SHARE, by including damages that are three time the difference in value assets!
You'll get your divorce real quick or he'll lose everything!

good luck

You are going to have to find a lawyer who will help, or maybe find a paralegal who can help you fill out the papers. They are not suppose to do it, but if you have a" friend" who is a paralegal that will help that is all I can see for you to do. It took me as long as you to get my divorce, and they all wanted thousands up front...after several years I finally found a lawyer who would do it for 700.00 down. It sure is a man's world isn't it? Good Luck to You!!

If you don't have $20K, I guess you'll have to go pro se and represent yourself. It's complex because of the amount of property you have, but not impossible.

I find it hard to believe that every last attorney in the phone book wants $20K. NOBODY wants this case? Not even a new grad?

Find a hooker with aides and have her bang him or hit yourself and call Police and say he beat you. Also just move on and move to another State and crate a new identity there are books in the library on how to do it. Or my favorite feed him rat poison!
Sorry to hear this.

Let me introduce you to my attorney. For $600 bucks he would take your case and your hubby would be lucky to walk away with just the clothes on his back.
